As far as Hampton, I really like him but with the draft as deep as it is at RB, I see this regime waiting to draft one later. I think they approach this draft just like last year. What position is deeper and wait to address that position later, especially the first 2 rounds. Just like Alt and McConkey.
I think they go DT and RB in this draft, but not until 3rd or 4th round. Those are the 2 deepest positions in this draft. Maybe unless Kenneth Grant is stairing them in the face at 22. I can see them making that pick.
I also don’t think they are going to wait and see if Loveland falls to them. I see them going after Juwan Johnson just in case Loveland isn’t there. If Loveland is there and they did sign Johnson, I still see them taking Loveland.

Zabel is over hyped. Where would he go in last years OC class? I don't think he is a first rounder. He is getting the JPJ and Meinerz hypeOriginally posted by Fouts2herbert View Post
Sign me up for stability at center for 5 years let alone 10...if he's that damn good I wouldn't hesitate to use the #22, whatever it takes to make this a top notch O-line is fine by me, I know we already have 3 first rounders on the line but only one of those guys was drafted by Hortiz and it took Slater dropping out of the top 8 for Telesco to hit on that pick, it was about as much of a no brainer as his Bowers pick last year...if Slater had been 1/2" taller and had another inch of length on his arms he might've gone right after Sewell...or maybe even before...

I agree with that approach, you double down in the draft that way teams assume you are looking elsewhere and then BAM! you draft a position that you just picked up on short term free agency for insurance...Originally posted by Boltinloudguy View Post

I haven't finished watching all of the recorded senior bowl practices and I need to watch the senior bowl again too...I saw him get trashed by Savion Williams pretty badly in that game, I just couldn't tell if Williams got away with jumping early or of it was a busted play because it seemed like the timing was really off on the play...Originally posted by Boltjolt View Post

He doesn't look like what he's listed at, I think he looks lighter, looking forward to seeing what he weighs in at during the combine..."The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post. Im not a fan of the first round buzz on Zabel...but I do think he is a good prospect for guard...center is a maybe...
In his defense, on the bad reps during the actual game, olineman always have a hard time in that game....way harder for these guys to work as a unit, with only a week to prepare, guys rotating in and out, switching positions...too much thinking going on...reaction time and effeciency down, economy of movement...dline doesnt have to worry about that so much...just pin your ears back and go...distinct advantage. So I dont put much stock or worry in his misses that game....but wouldnt take him in the first.Last edited by Lone Bolt; 02-19-2025, 07:03 AM.2026 Post combine Sig Mock 2.0

What you are saying is true...my observations about Zabel is that he has solid grip strength, once he latches on to a guy he's stuck on there, he's very athletic, it's really obvious, he can mirror like a champ and his acceleration on screen plays was impressive at the Senior Bowl...my concern with him is his anchor and that he looks smaller and he might need to get a bit stronger, 1st round does seem a tad high tho...Originally posted by Lone Bolt View PostIm not a fan of the first round buzz on Zabel...but I do think he is a good prospect for guard...center is a maybe...

Yes as I have posted, Zabel was not as good in the game as he was in practise, saw him beat a few timesOriginally posted by Fouts2herbert View Post

Lone bolt made a good point tho, the offensive linemen are at a disadvantage not just in those drills but also in the game, so much of what O-linemen do requires timing and repetition that they just can't get in a short week with guys coming and goin in and out of the lineup etc...Zabel is very athletic, my only concern is strength and size, he looked small on the field next to the other guys but that could've been an optical illusion...Originally posted by CanadianBoltFan View Post

woodMock V2: "It's wu-doo"
( Almost / Comparable / Replace or Reinforce )
1/22. Emeka Egbuka
WR Ohio State
Gets open early in routes. Surprisingly good blocker. YAC. Polished. Will immediately establish Keenan-like connection with Herbert opposite McConkey as twin Z-X WRs.
( Matthew Golden / Jaxon Smith Njigba / Palmer, Ladd, Godwin,QJ )
2/55. Josaiah Stewart
EDGE Michigan
Astounding 27.4% Pass Rush win rate. Abdul Carter 23%. Verse, Chop 21%. Juice. Good in pursuit. Motor. Play speed. Tough pound for pound.
( Bradyn Swinson / Haason Reddick / Joey ?, Tuli, Bud )
3/86. Joshua Farmer
DT Florida State
Very long arms, strong, powerful hands and destructive personality will serve him well in a 10 year NFL career. Value in a deep group of DT prospects. I like the upside, rugged playstyle, scheme fit and depth chart fit. Adam Fuller knows. Addition of Fuller/Stewart line us up with Eagles model. Great, diverse rotation up front.
( Jordan Phillips / Leonard Williams / Matlock, Tito )
4/124~ LeQuint Allen
RB Syracuse
Will run inside albeit with upright running style. Burst, change of direction. Soft hands, catching radius and ability to beat Man coverage on short, medium routes, from the Slot. He even has a full route tree. Excellent in Pass Pro. This all adds up to an elite receiving RB, something we do not have for changing the pace. We have the pounders under contract. Gus 6'1" 238# 29 YO. Hassan Haskins 6'2" 228# 25 YO.
(Jordan James / Tyron Tracy Jr / JK ?, Vidal )
5/159~ Mitchell Evans
TE Notre Dame
GRo type TE. Combo TE to pair up with Dissly. Fisk at TE-Y. Smartt at TE-F. Decent blocking. Reliable hands for tough catches over the middle. One year removed from knee injury means he may show athleticism moving forward.
( Jalin Conyers / Charlie Kolar / Hurst, Dissly )
5/177~ Joshua Gray
IOL Oregon State
Grossly undervalued offensive lineman drops due to perceived issues regarding size. 6'4" 305#. Sound techniques, including the always important consistently low pad level. He showed great feet and adequate anchor at the Shrine Bowl. I see a challenger for Zion and developmental Center, emergency tackle. These available IOL are largely why I went elsewhere early in V2 mock.
( Jackson Slater / Cole Strange, Ryan Kelly / Jaimes, Mustipher, Salyer, Zion )
6/183~ Jack Nelson
IOL Wisconsin
Right side player. Does a good job vs stunts. Uses hands well. Mauling finisher. Emergency tackle. What do you do when the available Centers don't fit right ? You stockpile Guards.
( Ajani Cornelius / Yodny Cajuste / Pipkens, Fries, Alt )
6/201~ Jacobe Covington
DB USC
Talented Outside Corner-Safety who was PFFs highest graded defender on USC in 2023. Press-Man, scheme flexible. Good tackler. Good size. Long Arms. I am willing to roll the dice on this injury plagued prospect in round 6, as this is our best option here.
( Isas Waxter / AJ Terrell / Ja'Sir, ASJ, Fulton?, Leonard )
6/215~ Gaethan Bernadel
ILB Stanford
"The Intellectual Thumper." Good in run defense. Good in coverage. Knows how to spell "Blitz."
( Bam Martin-Scott / Henry To'oto'o / Perryman?, Colston )
7/253~ Glendon Miller
DB Maryland
S-CB Combo DB. Team leader. Sure tackler. Does make plays on the ball. Speed may be at threshold. Hey, this is almost Mr. Irrelevant.
( Rayuan Lane III / Antoine Bethea / Jefferson?, Maye?, Molden )
I am seeing some savvy takes out here on TPB.
