I'm becoming increasingly fearful that Herbert is TT's guy, and has been from the beginning.

He knows his job is on the line, so an injury risk pick seems as unlikely as ever, as much as he's been fine picking those guys in the past. And Tua will likely be gone by #6 anyway, so he's not looking like an option here. (Okay, I'll admit the rationalization on this one is more to shield myself from disappointment in advance, as a Tua fanboy.)

With the Turner trade and Bulaga signing, I truly think we're done with the high end O-line additions. Combine that with the FO's faith in Pipkins at LT (teams are rarely going to admit a past draft mistake one year in, and we're talking about giving up on a relatively valuable 3rd rounder here), signing Storm Norton, and TT's comments on even Lamp and Tevi being options at LT, I just don't think there's room in that competition for a 1st round-type talent. I can see another developmental prospect on Day 2 or 3, but #6 sounds like too steep a commitment. I don't agree with that rationale, by the way, but it seems like the case.

Herbert screams safe pick, and a smart GM (I think TT is) whose ass is on the hot seat is not going into a pivotal first season at a new stadium with Tyrod freakin' Taylor as his starting QB. You seriously cannot convince me otherwise. This is his one chance to draft HIS GUY at QB and then let the chips fall where they may, I don't think he's going to mess with it. Please just don't trade UP for him, though - that would be horrific...

Herbert at #3 is a better risk than Jeudy at #6.

It just gives teams another reason to pass on him. I did not know of that score, pretty sure teams did (a lot sooner than us).
If Tua drops they will say because of the injury and the wonderlic IMO.

Having said all this; I sure hope Simmons is on board at #6 and that would make our choice a lot easier; just pick him and have 2 type of Derwin James flying around making plays.

LOL...horse shit. Without injury, Tua is the best. You can pick apart anyone's game when things aren't clean. But it matters not...Miami will be getting Tua. This Herbert stuff is nothing but smoke to keep the Chargers and Jags from forcing Miami to trade up.

I watched Burrow have the best season EVER in the history of college football and you say Tua is better? I like Tua too but Burrow was spectacular.

have had Eason to Tampa Bay round one for awhile now, and.... think Minny should take him @22, as won't be surprised if Fromm doesn't get past Belichick @23 ??

KJ Hamler could surprise some peoples, as speedy wideouts have been overdrafted before come round one, and....

ps. what if Miami passes on the both of Herbert and Tua.... Hurts @26 ??

Im not a wonderlic believer. Marino had a 16, Rivers i believe got a 30. Expected Herbert to be higher for a 4.0 student. But oh well. The wonderlic has nothing to do with football.

Then why not just go all in for Burrow? Miami could jump ahead of us to #3 for Tua.If we need to go to #3...may as well try to go to #1.

Not my ideal situation but if you say we need to go all in ............I like Burrow better and Cinci can be bought. They need too much else.
