Thanks Ninja for the list. I don't go that deep, because I wait to see who gets pick, then I'll dive in. Right now, I'm just focus on the first round. That man crush for Simmons grows with each hour. I seriously will lose it if he's there and we pass on him. I might take a break from this forum until the season starts. Just kidding. It will hurt though if we pass on him. I understand the qb talk. last year Steve threw out the query re: who would you take (round one) outside of the prospects we have been talking about, and that don't necessarily fill a need for us ??

my choices were WR AJ Brown and the edge guy that busted hard.... don't recall his name, and so.... this year was more interested in looking @pick #37 ??

it was of some intrigue to see who Solak had as his fringe first rounders, and who might last 'til our selection @37....

the names that popped out were S Grant Delpit, CBs Kristian Fulton/Jaylon Johnson, DEs YGM/Epenesa, and.... Jake Fromm (can we just draft him and trade him to NE for.... my ham sandwich already

still all about an RB @37, as think there's gonna be a good one there for us, and.... the ones in bold above would make me pause valuewise in comparison to a Dobbins, Helaire, Akers or Taylor ??

ps. three positions eye don't want to (reach) for @37 are WR, OT and QB.... they all feel like reaches to me, and would prefer to wait for round 3 in hopes of garnering a better value.... @OT preferably.

That said this WR draft is so deep with talent, size, speed. Great year to replenish our WR depth with upgrades in talent and SPEED.

I realize this WR class is deep but I would still like to see WR taken by the 4th round at the latest. I am okay not taking Jeudy, Ruggs or Lamb, even Justin Jefferson but Aiyuk at the top of the second, Mims, - many options. Find one that is fast and can catch the damn ball.

RapSheet is making it seem like Trent Williams could be traded. The Chargers have the cap space to manipulate a deal. Who knows, a 3rd plus Des King might work. or a 3/5 .

I think the Chargers will get either Trent or Peters IF they do not draft OL in 1st round

Don’t be surprised if all those prospects/more are all drafted in rd1.
Not concerned about where drafted but the prospects drafted and with a depth of talent, 10-15+ WRs on day 3 will be major NFL contributors.

That could be true. Of course the first thing is speed - but a guy like Deebo Samuels thats can catch it and run physically with it would be the type of receiver I would like to see added.

I'd call a trade of either a long shot but if one is made, still don't think it's going to be Trent. And certainly don't think Des King is going to be traded. We don't have that much cap space with some possible big contracts looming next year.

The reason you trade King now is because he is a free agent and you are not bringing him back next spring so are losing him for maybe a comp pick in 2022 Yes, your team might be weaker this year but you are also planning ahead.

I agree. I used to be the guy that waited until the 5th/6th/7th round on WR... because this is a deep draft @ WR.

But recently I got back to considering how to make this offense click again... even if Tyrod is our starter next year. The guy I settled on was KJ Hamler. Hamler replaces the deep speed we lost in Benjamin. Hamler also replaces the drag routes we used to throw to Tyrel Williams so effectively. And Hamler is a PR/KR option also.

Imagine having Hamler and Eke in the slot. MW and KA outside. Put Eke in motion pre-snap, and you have an option to hand it to Eke (Deebo-style) or hit him in the flat as a receiver. Meanwhile, you have Hamler in the opposite slot running a slant/drag to opposite side of Eke and have to consider Hamler's big play speed (4.30) while deciding who your safeties will help over the top with (KA or MW). And since I've only mentioned 4 playmakers (+QB and 5 OL)... chose whether you want to include HH pressing the deep seam or a RB out in the flats to opposite side of EKe (same side as Hamler's drag route). Defenses would have a lot to think about. I would hate to scheme against that offense...
