I don't see someone trading up for Simmons. As a new, Derwin James type player, his value is more a projection that a player in a traditional role.

Why is it that a 6’ 4”, 238#, 21yo prospect has trouble being seen as a 3 down LB with trait flexibility?

Derwin was a top 5 talent. Isaiah is the #1 prospect.

Depends how teams see him. Do they see a LB or a safety? Derwin also fell to us. Sean Taylor is the only safety that went as high as he did so if teams see a LB in Simmons, he will probably go ahead of us. If they see a safety, probably will be there.

Just put him on the damn field and let him make plays. He can play safety or he can play LB. Versatile defense if you ask me. KC has speed - the Chargers need more speed.

Doubt we get a trade partner if Simmons is gone, why trade up? For an OT in an OT rich draft? Not happening.

If Detroit takes Simmons, Okuda would be popular, as would either one of the QBs if we don't want them. Some teams are pretty high on D. Brown as well.

I don't think the prospect is the problem, but more likely the "seers"....

Jax needs CBs after trading Ramsey and letting Bouye walk. Id take 9 and 20....even their second if they cant get #20. Dont know if we can get 2 picks moving down 3 spots.

I think the best the Chargers can hope for to move from 6 to 9 is probably a 3 and maybe a 5

I like it. Jagoffs will have to sweeten the deal with a 2021 day 2 pick.
Would give us more capital if we want to move back into the bottom of the 1st as well.

Thats one reason I like the Jags or Browns - still in the Top 10 but get an extra 3rd that might help move from 37 to the top of the 1st - and you still have a 3rd round pick

I switch 6 for 5 just to move up a round - but not adding a draft pick.

Thursday will be interesting.

Simmons is our base WILL, DLB, defensive weapon and matchup chess piece.
