That LT and CB were here last year. So in reality we've only improved at OG and KR. While ourOriginally posted by SDfan View Postwe signed the #2 rated FA LT and CB and a highly rated OG and a better PR than we had- what the hell are you talking about?
holes have multiplied. RB, WR, ILB, OLB, CB and S positions have taken a step back.

You have to think that TT believes in his draft picks. They take time to develop. I think Steve Williams was drafted to take over the slot. Wright was probably slated to walk anyways with Williams moving into that role. RB will be filled in the draft. A top end WR in the draft will fit nicely with Allen/Floyd/Inman. Green was always expected to move into the slot. Not he gets a chance. Woody can motion into the slot. I figure another OLB in the draft and they expect Law/Tourek to continue to grow. You cant judge your free agent pick ups and drafted players in a year or 2. They take time. I think TT believes in coaching his players up with an eye on the long term success. I think we often lose sight of things because guys are not instantly successful. Lots of players in the league take years to develop. Murray wasnt a good RB his first few years. Most of us need to stop being so trigger happy with TTs players. Im more concerned about guys he didnt bring in like Liuget and Reyes. To some extent Rivers.
Id like to see us continue to be smart about the money we spend and make sure we dont overspend due to supply and demand and other teams driving up prices. Its not good business. TT has always said he will build this team through the draft. Its been boring yes not to hear of at least some tires being kicked but i believe he has a plan.
I would prefer we focus on the trenches in free agency and draft the skill pieces we need.

Ghelkin was just on the radio and said the Chargers are working on acquiring a veteran wide receiver and it should happen soon. And it's not Reggie Wayne. They are also working on other positions.
The Rivers/Weddle extensions were brought up and he said they have enough cap room that they don't need to do anything right now, but they are both wanted and the team would would look at it probably around the draft.

Reggie Wayne is done. He was close to the league leaders in dropped passes and played minimal. Bowe and Crabtree were up there. I think Crabtree is a decent WR but its hard to catch passes from Kaepernick when he throws it as hard as he can from 10 yards away.

I'm not sure what more you could expect given the limited cap space/bad contracts and the many holes he inherited. Now that we have a bit of money we resigned our two biggest FA and added a massive upgrade at guard along with upgrading our return game. We still have holes to fix so overspending on one positions wouldn't be real smart. It's hard to patient as a fan, but this roster is nowhere near complete yet so it's hard for me to give him a lukewarm grade yet.Originally posted by Boltx View PostTT needs a defining moment. So far he has been lukewarm, safe and the team remains middle of the pack at best.

Oh I wasn't implying he needs to go balls deep into free agency. More than happy to build through the draft, but still waiting for that "wow" moment I guess. Maybe it'll never come, just keep steadily adding pieces. In this day and age and the way the cap and spending are so easily manipulated, hard to keep blaming things on your predecessor. At some point very soon we will need to ask ourselves, "Is this team much better than when TT took over?" Went from a team stuck at around 7-to-9 wins.....to a team that is still in the 7-to-9 win range. Time will tell.Originally posted by richpjr View PostI'm not sure what more you could expect given the limited cap space/bad contracts and the many holes he inherited.
