I think you are giving AB too much credit.

            Agreed.
winning in NE is AB's last chance at some respect
he knows this and is desperate to not have his legacy be the biggest baby in the NFL
BB knows this also, and is using it as leverage

Per Robert Littal, Black Sports Online, he is hearing from reliable sources in the League, that this was all premeditated and planned..

ie the word got to AB that NE would definitely sign him if OAK released him.

It makes perfect sense...AB has money from previous contracts.

From a distance, Brown seemed like someone with severe mental issues, or brain injury, or both. The Patriots had to be in communication with him & knew the score, or else they wouldn't have signed him immediately without even a medical checkup. Any other team would have sought out psychiatric advice and had some semblance of discussions.

Brown must have had quite a few discussions indirectly with Belichick to go ahead with his plan. A casual "sure, go ahead, we'll sign you" wouldn't have sufficed. They must have discussed figures. Kind of seems like tampering.

Yep. To deliberately conspire with another player to void his contract sounds like some kind of tampering to me. And the Cheatriots have a long history of dirty deals...

Everyone always leaves out MicGate which I think may be the worse offense of them all, when the Pats went undefeated at home for like 3 seasons, like 44-2 over several seasons from the O co ordinator leaving the mic on after the 15 second cut off rule telling Brady what the D was doing. Doug Flutie put on his helmet and heard the O co ord telling Brady what to look for, that is beyond cheating in my opinion.

As far as Brown goes I'm really worried he is going to ball out this year now that he is finally happy. I would of rather faced him twice on the Raiders than possibly once in the playoffs.

total con job. the patriots would be offering him $2 million if he really was psycho. this is very bad for the league.

similar move by Paul George (PG13) in the NBA with OKC. except in his case it happened overnight - he just told OKC, I going to the clippers right fucking now! similar shit with anthony davis.
