Horrible performance tonight. Left the bases loaded down 4-1 in the 6th and with two men in in the 9th down 4-2 he grounds weakly to the pitcher. How long before he hits the bench?

Dude is not hitting the bench (ever) barring injury or a rest day.. agree he needs to clutch up w/RISP; However his presence in the lineup allows guys like Alonso and Upton to see pitches!

He got two hits today, Murphy put him in the four spot today, so they're trying to jump start him. But his SLG and OBP are bad.

Good win today though.

Kemp is a great team guy and good with the fans. How far that charm and effort will go when he is spot-starting and playing first base/ DH in a few years is the question. The Padres' doctors were right to question his chronic hip issues before the trade, and the Dodgers played Preller's bluff perfectly in getting out from under that contract. Kemp is giving all he can, but this is what Matt Kemp is probably going to look like for the rest of his time in SD. Without JUpton or another power bat in the lineup, it could get ugly...
