Pat Murphy Better Than Bud Black

The Padres fired Black when the team was 32-33. The team is 20-23 under Murphy so far. I guess we'll see how the rest of the year unfolds, but after a brief run it looks like they are fading again. This team is too talented to be under .500, even with the injuries we have had.

Black had to go. Murphy has until the end of the year, so let's at least give him that much rope before comparing him to someone who had 8 1/2 seasons and accomplished zilch.

Agree. Was a bit surprised that they fired Black so early in the season, but the team wasn't responding to him so I am not surprised.
