So, we gave up Pete Rose's American record-breaking hit, and, now, we've given up Ichiro's American/Japanese record-breaking hit. Is there some Cuban hitter who can break the Cuban/American record against us?

If there is a record to be broken or some weird negative stat, it is always against us.

BTW, Ichiro doesnt even have 3,000 MLB hits yet so i dont know why they are making a big deal of it. When he gets 4257 hits in MLB then they can write about it. Getting 1400 hits in the minor leagues that is Japan doesnt count. Ichiro is a great hitter but he has a ways to go yet. Just like nobody cares that Sadaharu Oh broke Babe Ruth's HR record first....because it was in Japan so nobody cares. Thats where the American guys went that couldnt cut it in MLB and went there and lit it up lol.

Don't forget that we gave up Lou Brock's stolen base record (pre-Rickey) as well. Meanwhile we had our first cycle last year and still don't have a no-hitter. This club couldn't be more irrelevant.

He's gonna get 3K. Sorry, but I think he's an all-timer. He played his first nine-years in Japan and dominated. Then he came to the US late and dominated for most of his time here before he started to age. And btw, he fielded his position like a stud. I agree with the assessment of Japanese ball, but even so, Ichiro's a stud. But you're right. He's no Irabu.

He will be an all timer when he gets hit number 4257 in MLB. Till then, who cares what he did in Japan. Randy Bass sucked in MLB for us and others then went there and had 200 homers in five seasons , which is less than 162 games a year, also hitting around .300. His career MLB ave is .212.

We have Tony Gwynn. He must have a few relevant records.

And maybe Trevor Hoffman has something relevant?

And we got a few Cy Young Awards.

Plus, we got the best baseball weather.

And we got the Chicken, who holds the record for most times being a base coach by a mascot.

Jerry Coleman might have the record for most games managed by the announcer.

Tim Flannery might be the most beaned utility player of all time.

And we might be the only team to have a no-hitter against us by a guy tripping balls.

                Anything else?

I think Dale Murphy, Andre Dawson, and Barry Bonds hit about 99% of their home runs against the Padres. That's some relevancy.

That just adds to the joke this team is.

We also have the Roseann train wreck of the national anthem and Snoops Dogs recent bash after he threw a horrible pitch.

We also probably are looked at as the team to get good young players from as we seem to trade the best players on the farm for a player who has peaked and trade away players on our team that will be getting bigger contracts so we get rid of them Myers will be next when his contract is coming up for renewal.

Im just tired of having a crappy team. Get a decent GM(Preller apparently isnt it) and spend some money on the right moves. Kemp is already past his prime and is now a free swinger who never takes a BB anymore. Good job by our hitting coaches.

Well. I'm happy that, at least in my mind, our owner (or whatever title he has) cares about winning. He's been unsuccessful at it, but the mere desire to win is an improvement over previous regimes.

If we're mentioning Roseanne Barr and Snoop A-Loop, we should acknowledge the gay men's non-national anthem.

We have that movie in which Gary Coleman manages the team as a bat boy.

Next time, we should get Kevin Costner to manage the team.

I'll take Ichiro over Rose on my team any day. Pete Rose was an inspiration growing up but Ichiro is a better player. Pete Rose can look at Ichiro's plaque in the HOF. You did it to yourself Pete.
