USWNT didn't have a great game, winning on two penalty goals made by Rapinoe, Spain was rough, and just missed on a few shots that would have evened it up. Really bad mistake early in the match by the US back line. Maybe France and the USWNT were looking ahead?

Yeah, they were pretty rough and tumble, especially in their box. On the other hand, Rapinoe got a card for an inadvertent hand to a spanish face, and subsequent dive.

Superior? Not even close. USWNT better than their competition in the women's game you bet. Soccer was introduced into schools to offer girls an actual sport opposite Football for boys. Boys Soccer? Um that shit got played during football season. Not really to surprising the women's team ahead.

In the 20 years I lived in Europe I saw a whole bunch of football (soccer) and nobody gave 2 shits about a women's team. Now though, it is starting to get noticed. Something like 7 million English tuned in to their game against Cameroon. When we were the only country that semi took women's game seriously we were the best, not every WC or Olympics but enough to clearly be the best. This is probably last WWC where US will be automatic favorites.

Here I'll try it this way. A high school team in my state won 9 state titles in 10 years using your logic they were far superior to the Patriots. Better against their level of competition sure. Superior....nope.
