I hereby guarantee that Riverboat Rivers, the Gamblin' Gunslinger will NOT sling the rock into coverage for picks during the Bolts vs. Chefs game on Sunday...now, on the other hand, in the Colts game, that's entirely another matter...he was in classic form slinging up two picks vs. the Jags last Sunday, losing a winnable game...vintage Phil...if past performance is an indicator, he is now due for a 3-pick game vs. the Vikes on Sunday...

Offense, capitalize on opportunities, do a lot better on 3rd dn. Give our D some bench time, score in the red zone.

I believe our D is very good with a chance to be great.
Not so, O & STs. Decent role players might have a chance. We'll see.
Our defense is better then last year but still far from great..... When CIN needed to move the ball they moved it at will and scored the game-winning TD only to have it taken away by an unnecessary penalty that is not always called...... we were out-played by CIN......

The best defense in NFL last year was able to limit the Chiefs to ONLY 31 points in the SB and that 49er defenase was better than the current chargers defense....... with 5 first round DL.....

Playing taylor at QB, guarantees that Chargers will not score more that one TD and a maybe a few FG's per game....... and EVERY team knows that...... and that Chief defense is way better than most people think...... they are good enough to shut down taylor and this extremely limited offense.......they dominated a better texans team last week

Taylor will never throw any picks if he refuses to take chances throwing balls over the middle where games are won and lost....... he only throws safe passes to sidelines..... he does not have the precise accuracy to consistently complete passes over the middle in traffic or in any kind of tight coverage..... he is a good guy and an ok backup QB but nothing more.......

The year he "led" BUF to the playoffs he only beat bad teams by very low close game scores, but he got blown out by every good team he played...... even the Chargers scored over 50 points on them.....

If you are no threat to pass the ball, you are not going to be ab le to run on any team unless they are really bad like CIN......

Sidenote: Bradley's defensive scheme is great at stopping the big plays. My wish isn't that he suddenly becomes blitz hungry. We've seen coordinators like Bowles and Greg Williams get burned a ton because they're so one dimensional in using the blitz so often. My wish is that Bradley balances it out more instead of being at the bottom so much. Ultimately, it's about using it at the right times.
We may allow the fewest explosive plays but we allow other teams to drive down and score whenever they really need to....... we also allow teams that prefer to dink and dunk like NE and NO to do that at will...... still defending the deep ball even though those teams rarely threw deep......

Yes, we have "done a decent job at limiting mahomes big plays" but he and Reed always beat us relatively easily even if they use backups....... and they are a better team this year than last.......
no matter what kind of defense you use, Reed will always figure out how to exploit it when its time to win the game......

Our defense last season was the best at limiting KC's passing. 180 1st game, 174 the 2nd game. Only the Raiders had a better single game, but got blown out in their first game. If defense can build on that, this game could surprise. Could be closer than we think. (But I'm fully expecting to get wrecked)

We potentially have two new pieces on defense this year we didn’t have last year.
A third passrusher in Tillery (considering the non factor he was as a rookie)
and Murray who will be a challenging spy for Mahomes.

              harris, joseph, Uchenna

on offense, 1 or less turnovers
Kelley, Turner, improving Lamp & Feeney, maybe we win TOP by 40/20.

just saying, the KC offense struggled to get going against the Texans.
this could potentially be a rare game in which the KC offense fails to score more than 1 TD.
              WIN UGLY.

                Very true.
I was thinking more in terms of Lynn being a Parcells disciple.
                We play modern Harball.

That was the Nathan Peterman game when the Bolts INT'd Peterman 5 times in the first half. Tyrod took over in the 2nd half down 30 pts and threw for one score and ran for another. He was also strip-sacked that led to a defensive score.

Tyrod Taylor is on the Chargers final injury report with a rib injury apparently suffered in the last practice. He still had a full practice and his game status is good to go.

Say what ? KC scored 34 points. Didn't look like they struggled to me
