I don't want somebody who won't be allowed to play. If he's found guilty, he might be in prison or on long-term suspension from the NFL. If he's found not guilty, that might be a long time from now - and, in the meantime, the NFL will have him suspended. It's not like the NFL ever listens to the Union.

Maybe I've missed something, as I don't tend to follow off-the-field news, but didn't he plead guilty as part of some sort of deal with the AG?

Let's keep Peterson suspended for as long as possible so that he can spend more time whooping his kids and less time doing something productive. I'm sure he's in a better mood now that he's suspended. He'll definitely treat his kids better. This punishment from the NFL will totally make society a better place.

Goodell is burning AP and the other scumbag players in reaction to his own botching the Rice situation.
Peterson was the best thing that could have happened to Goodell at the time, and that was no coincidence.
The buffoon keystone cops of NFL security who couldn't provide the Rice video, somehow unleashed a sudden torrent of evidence against several questionable players within a matter of days.
I guess they must have stumbled upon all of it in Goodell's fireplace?
