On NFL Network after Chargers beat Raiders tonight.

Steve Smith... You Cannot outscheme lack of talent. You just can't do it. You can try to draw it up, this guy get this this guy. It don't matter...

Joe Thomas ...Your exactly right Steve. This is a players game. If you don't have the talent. Especially on defense. There nothing you can do, there is no xs and os out there.

Rivers resume speaks for itself. He turns it over too much and it is why he has very few 10 plus win seasons over his career. A bunch of 8 or 9 win seasons could have been 10 win seasons except for too many poor decisions with the rock.

Thats a result of playing for the Chargers with terrible owners.

This franchise in their NFL history has a meager 10 seasons of 10 or more wins.

          Rivers has 4 of those.

This franchise has been a participant in the playoffs 13 times.

          Rivers has 6 of those.

Belichick says "Good players can’t overcome bad coaching" .

Who is more correct? The former players with no rings or the HC with 6 rings?

Bad coaching mis manages the clock and calls running plays with no timeouts.

Belichicks team shut us out 45-0

I assume they were talking about the Raiders, who just fired their defensive coordinator.

Rivers was hamstrung by a series of 2nd-3rd rate head coaches during his career: Norv, McCoy and Lynn
He finally has a decent head coach and is 9-4 with Indy. Indy was 7-9 last year.

Brady currently is 8-5 with Tampa, even though Tampa was considered a Super Bowl favorite at the beginning of the season.
Previous to Tampa, he had one of the all time great coaches his entire career.....miles better than the turds with whom Rivers was hamstrung.

I'm sure you can agree with that.

From the NFL.com summary of the game tonight:

Perhaps any win is cause for celebration, but puzzlement still prevails as it relates to the Chargers coaching and special teams despite the victory. Two go-ahead field goal attempts inside the final four minutes and, of course, the Chargers missed them both. Badgley's 51-yard attempt with 53 seconds to go in regulation had the distance, but fluttered left. Minutes earlier, it was a bad snap and a bad kick. With a tie ballgame with 3:38 left in the fourth after a bad no-call that should've been pass interference against the Raiders, Badgley attempted a 47-yard field goal. It was pulled left. This is the Chargers. Of course it was no good. Everyone knew it was going to be no good, because the Chargers are a tortured franchise when it comes to kicks going every which way but through the uprights when it matters most. It wasn't all on the special teams though, as the fourth quarter played out as an indictment on the offensive play-calling. Herbert had just one pass attempt in the stanza. With Herbert slinging it and Badgley struggling, the Chargers went conservative and played to set up two field goal attempts gone awry. It was puzzling play-calling to be kind that led to more special teams struggles. Badgley's missed an NFL-high nine field goals. The football gods can be mean. And the Chargers' game management can be confounding.

I blame it on Herbert...he's sucked all the good luck from the football gods this season and left none for Badgely! LOL!

there is no reason to try a fg anymore unless it’s under 30 yards. Just go for it on every 4th down

Lynn has no grasp of the game. They get down in scoring territory and he turtles up and runs the ball three times - Money Misser misses a FG

gets the ball back, runs on first, runs on 2nd, so what does he do, runs a bootleg and loses 8 yards when at that point - might as well run the ball and keep the FG as close to 40 yards as possible

they have won these last two games in spite of Lynn

he took the ball out of Herberts hands

On top of that Aikman calling it out that we should have taken a timeout to preserve clock after stopping the Raiders, Lynn letting time just tick before realizing to call it probably from someone up in the booth. Just sick and tired of mis managed games.

Obviously Badgley's kicking mechanics are off and still hasnt been fixed. His plant foot is always in a direction it shouldnt be. This was pointed out before from someone. I expect Lynn to have no clue on this or anyone on our coaching staff.
