Over reaction maybe. Both defenses were sieves with regards to...well,. each team's defense, lol. Look at the passing stats in that game also.

And other than the Carolina game, he's gone up against Mahomes and Brady. Besides Mahomes, who would you rather have as a young QB? Burrow is good, but Herbert is better. Wentz? Goff? Watson? Murray? Mayfield? Jackson? Prescott? Lock? Maybe Russell Wilson, if you consider him young. Maybe not. Just imagine if he had a good head coach, a defense that didn't fold in crucial situations, and a consistent running game.
None! After Herbie gets trained up and reduces his mistakes in half our offense will become lethal...unless of course the spanos continue to invest in subpar linemen.

Question: Herbert's last TD bomb that went for 72 yards. He dropped it right into the outstretched arms of a streaking Guyton, throwing off his back foot, a blitz coming in his face. Could any other QB make that throw, I mean that distance, that accuracy, throwing off the back foot, in a jail break?

My reaction was "Fxxx" when we drafted Herbert...

I was very wrong, I think we found ourselves a franchise QB.

Let's build around him and get one!

                Go Herbert!!!

PS. I think we already saw the ceiling for Mahomes, but we haven't seen it yet for Herbert!!

Good point, PM is the best, but maybe it’s hard to imagine him getting better
and he’s prone to let slumps slow him down for quarters at a time.

could JH be better one day?
not that we need him to be, but I don’t see why not.

all the intangibles point towards a maximizing of his raw skill, so what’s his ceiling?

keep caution that he can also regress ala Carson Wentz, if he stops improving and D coordinators carch up.

Josh Allen. Who Herbert reminds me of. I also really like that offense up there in Buffalo. Herbert is much further along than Allen was his first year. Where he played 12 games. Look at him now.

I wasn't sure about him when we drafted him. He always has the same expression. He looks like he's watching golf on tv. I think that's benefitted him so far, getting thrown in so early. He's like machine. Nothing is too big. Nothing is too scary. He does his thing. I can't wait to see him when he has command of the playbook and is making decisions pre-snap.

Not sure he's going to be a leader some day, but he may grow into it.

I was all for drafting Herbert and figured they would do that. The thing that surprised me is how quickly he has picked up playing under center and how he has grasped the offense so fast with so little practice. He seems to have an even higher ceiling than I though given our small sample size so far (no wonder TT had him as his highest rated player). The quieter personality does not seem to be an issue.

I recall there was a concern that he would have problems with the snap count because he didn't do it in college... non issue now, but he could learn to hard count now.
