They are. Just doesn’t match what he’s put on tape consistently. He is a pure projection based on traits. A truly impressive package though.

I agree, but I would have no issue with taking him at #47 overall and developing him. We lack quality depth at 3-4 OLB.

A 31" vert is excellent for his size.

Yeah, this is some pretty high praise from NFL Draft Diamonds writer and MAC enthusiast, Dalmon Talbot;

“The MAC has produced some pretty solid players over the past decade including first overall pick Eric Fisher, Central Michigan’s Joe Staley and even L.J. Shelton from Eastern Michigan. All were solid offensive lineman, but Tommy Doyle maybe the best of them all.”

I mean, if that was even remotely true you’d think there’d be a lot more buzz. I’ve watch some tape and can’t seem to find many flaws, but it’s hard to tell with that level of comp. But it’s not like the MAC is worse than Sioux Falls (sorry Pipkins). There’s lots of former MAC players in the league.

Phillips rocked it...this is terrific news...I really dont know if he is a target for us, but he might have tested himself into top 12 consideration...win win for Bolts...

A DE making it into the top 12 would be great for us. If five QBs go in the top 12 along with 5 QBs, that means that at least two the following makes it to us: Slater, Pitts, Surtain, or Horn (assuming Sewell also goes top 12).
