The chargers were universally lauded for signing Baluga and it was considered to be a pretty good bargain. The injury potential was mentioned and taken into consideration. I find no fault with Telesco for adding what was considered the best RT in free agency last year. Easy to pan it now after Baluga missed basically the whole season. Backs are bad deals for OL. I worry if he comes back from it?

Like, how am I a traitor? Your team are traitors.

The Oline coach vouched for Bulaga's character and dedication.
Bulaga might bounce back this year, given that he effectively took last year off. It happens with vets

Turner seems to have hit a wall physically. He was effectively on a one year show me deal.
Throwing Tevi out there at LT was what seemed bizarre.

Ninja (& I) really liked Lucas Niang who went to the Chiefs in the 3rd. With the release of Schwartz (& Fisher) that must mean Fat Andy likes him.
Why does Telesco consistently pass on these guys?

Chargers could have stayed put and picked up chase claypool (a guy i compared to Vincent Jackson) and niang.

        ^This.

After cutting Turner and with the Pouncey retirement and free agents on the line, we could end up with 4 new starters next year alongside him.

I think between FA and the draft TT is going to try to revamp this OL. I sure hope he's getting some good input so he picks the right players.

There were multiple red flags about Baby Beluga's injury history...he only played 5 games in 2017, 9 in 2012...only played 3 complete seasons in his 10-year career...looks like TT panicked and got into a bidding war for habitually damaged goods, then that $19 mil guaranteed was the rotten cherry on the top...

TT needs to stop signing old and broke OL and start drafting some young and talented ones EARLY.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Agreed. He needs to look at all these interior OL and see if any have a history of injuries. If yes, remove them from the list. Telesco, Staley, Lombardi and Smith need to find the right OL. Only Balaga will be back -- I hope. Turn that OL over -gut job overhaul.

It’s appropriate with a new HC and new franchise qb
lets find out whether or not if this (Staley era) is going to work, sooner rather than later.
I don’t want to be sitting here in 2023 saying, “okay now Staley has HIS guys” haha

I'm wondering about the OL - who will they send off from our OL?
