Right. I think the 31 other GMs can see that Turner's salary for this year guarantees that he will get cut. I mean we are arguably the most OL needy team in the entire league and we are trying to get rid of him. The situation does not exactly convey the message that is Turner is worthy of any sort of significant trade consideration.

It is right for us to try, but the writing in this situation appears to be already on the wall.

When there is no trade interest in Turner and we cut him, teams can just offer what, if anything, they feel comfortable with offering, which will certainly be far less than $11.5M.

So, it's like peddling a pair of used old shoes at the swap meet...and one of those shoes is missing the shoelaces...AND slapping a ridiculous price tag on them...good luck with that idea, TT...

Unless he is willing to have his salary cut back to nothing (vet minimum) and just be a camp body fighting for a roster spot, I don't see how there is much of a message to send. Turner played badly, and is paid a ton, so we need to fix the salary thing AND the upgrade the position thing, so there is not much else to talk about.

Generally this time of year I'd agree with that, but I'm TT usually doesn't play games so I'm taking it at face value, with little expectation that anyone will actually trade for him and I think he ends up getting cut.

Why trade for him when you can sign him to a much better contract after we cut him in a few days?

Who in their right mind would trade any pick, any, for a guy coming off a terrible year at a high salary and on the last year of his deal? You just wait for him to get released, keep your pick and get him on a deal you want. And their wont be a ton of competition for the guy. There are better free agents out there right now.

It is just a shame that he was so awful and so hurt while a Bolt. He was a very, very good OG in Carolina.
