I understand the business side of this but ;quietly Hayward was one of my most liked Chargers for the last 5 years. He always graded out well at the end of his 5 seasons. Can't ask much more out of FA. It is now definitely a start of a new Chapter for the Chargers. .
C'ya Casey Hayward

I thought clearly no.
I Remember him taking Julio Jones out of the game in their victory against the Super Bowl bound Falcons.
Julio Jones was a a monster that year.
That was a long time ago football wise.
Arguably the greatest Charger corner ever.

Been a great player for us, even with his struggles last year he still outplayed a lot of CB around the league but the downward trajectory had started. I don’t think TT makes this move without the cap decrease this year but I think it will end up being a situation of better a year too early than too late kind of deal.

Cornerbacks currently on the Chargers' roster: Chris Harris and two undrafted players from last season's practice squad, John Brannon and Donte Vaughn.
We will see if they bring back free agents Michael Davis, Brandon Facyson, and Tevaughn Campbell.
Every time you release a player it creates another hole. Cap space is great, but you still need to field a team, hopefully a winning team.
