but again, there is good value in the TE position in the draft - scout some other damn schools!

Interesting that it is very similar contract to what Gerald Everett got in Seattle but Everett is considerably younger and IMO has more upside. I wonder if the plan is to move on Pitts if he is there? Seems like the position has been downgraded considerably so far. I realize there is a long way to go before camp and this is not the final iteration of the TE position on the roster.
