Kind of weird but due to new QB and New head coach I'm mildly optimistic about the Jets. If they try to put all the weight on the new QB like they did with Herbert I'd say your right about being a bust! A balanced game that doesn't destroy a rookie QB in development then he might stand a chance. I'd laugh really hard if Mac Jones ends up being the most competent QB in that division even over Josh Allen.Originally posted by Jetssuckgochargers View Post
Wilson is going to be a huge bust over there, but its not my problem anymore. Go Chargers!

I vaguely remember that team from way back in the day. Was Pat Haden the starting QB? If I remember correctly, those teams had strong running games!Originally posted by Topcat View Post
I used to love that awesome Ram line from the 70's---Slater, Harrah, Mack, France, Pankey...Pankey ended up coaching juco ball and teaching P.E....my wife had him for a teacher...

I like the fact that the Jets are building a solid O-line. That may be the difference that allows Wilson to be successful.Originally posted by gzubeck View Post

Chargers kicked the snot out of Haden in 79. Ferragamo came in and eventually took them to the Super Bowl that year.Originally posted by Topcat View Post
Yep...Haden, and later on, Vince Ferragamo...
Chargers did the same thing 20 years later to Trent Green. Kurt Warner replaced him.
Chargers have been good to the Rams.

I have never once in my life seen a Mastadon beat a Mammoth. I can’t even find a Mastadon Mountain in CA, they are so insignificant to the elite Mammoth class that no one here ever considered naming a marbled protrusion with this moniker. You have to go to Canada to find Mastadon Mountain, and we know how they play football. Poorly.Originally posted by beachcomber View Post
Mastadon.... shorter 'n stockier than a mammoth,
I hope Slater bucks this ominous trend.Justin Herbert is Elite. Ride or Die ...

I had thoughts that Sewell had the perfect length also, which he does not. Other than weight, Slater matches Sewell closely or greatly exceeds Sewell in each of those metrics!! The most exciting part about Slater though is his actual play and tape. I was hoping for Darrisaw, mostly because I did not consider Slater a real option at 13?? And the more I research Slater, the more I like this pick!!
