That last sentence is a good reason to deal Rivers right now.

Why? From what I understand, if the Chargers are staying in San Diego, Rivers would be happy to keep playing.

QBs play until they are 37 now a days. Rivers still has 4 quality years IMO, sign him and stop this talk about trading the franchise....

I don't get the he remains interested in how the roster is built....does the front office not communicate what the plans are...or is Rivers just unsure what direction the team is heading? The way it reads or sounds is he's not too happy with some of the moves. .

If Rivers plays one more year with us and walks then TT is left with no compensation (in trade) other than maybe one of those supplemental picks in 2016. And because Rivers is choosing not to extend that is a realistic scenario.
          For Stinky-Jon-Wizzleteats....

TT will have to have balls of steel and a flame resistant coat to trade Rivers! I wonder what it would take for the Titans (or some other team) to pry Rivers away from the team.

              Couldn't TT tag and trade?

I think Rivers is playing here in 2015.

It could buy a new coach and GM a few more years...
                Go Rivers!

Then I wonder about the retirement option that was very much on the table for Rivers not that long ago.

I don't see how he could be happy. He had crap for an OL and there hasn't been improvement in 3 spots. The DL needs a lot of work. LBs need help. RB is downgraded. WRs are a wash. Depth in the secondary is worse. The top 2 TEs will be free agents.

The 'push year' is starting slow. I get that he wants to wait and see the moves in coming months

this is a bit of a make or break year for McCoy and Telesco too. one or both of them is on year 3 of their 4-5 yr contract. a non extension there would put some doubt on an older player like Rivers too.
