Glad we got a blocking TE. Maybe he'll fit on the practice squad.

The 2021 NFL Draft kicker class is a strong group. Overall, we see three players who earn draftable grades with two prospects earning a sixth-round grade.

            2. Alex Kessman, Pittsburgh
            6-foot-2, 189 pounds
2021 NFL Draft grade: Sixth round

Not very often is a kicker called a sleeper in the draft, but that may be the case with Alex Kessman of Pittsburgh. While he is receiving a free agent grade from most draftniks his talent is worth a draft pick. What stands out with Kressman is his leg strength. Over his career, he has made 12 of 18 field goals from over 50 yards including going four of five this past season. He also placed 63% of his kickoffs in the end zone for touchbacks this past season.

I didn’t scout him at all but has decent measurables and metric #’s.

Forrest Merrill is a massive man and I think he may be one of the strongest players in the 2021 NFL Draft. I recently received these videos of the former Arkansas State run stuffer benching 225 48 times and the deadlifting a damn mini van. This kid is a freak! Check it out!

Jared Goldwire 2021 NFL Draft Profile | Last Word on NFL (lastwordonsports.com)

Jared Goldwire NFL Draft Scouting Report | Defensive Tackle

Positives: Tall, agile defensive lineman with outstanding quickness. Fires off the snap, immediately gets his hands up, and works them throughout the action. Easily changes direction, quickly locates the ball, and works hard to make plays. Flows well laterally and gets down the line of scrimmage to the ball handler.

Negatives: Does not consistently play with proper pad level and makes himself an easy target for opponents. Slow shedding blocks. Displayed little in the way of pass-rush skill at Louisville.

Analysis: Goldwire offers solid size and athleticism as well as growth potential, but he failed to live up to expectations. He comes with a high upside but must quickly translate his natural skills into football production to make it out of camp this summer.

Jared Goldwire, Louisville, DT (4th Round)

Despite being a bit light for a defensive tacker at 305 pounds, Jared Goldwire holds up well at the point of attack with the ability to stalemate a guard or take on additional blockers for the linebackers to make plays in the hole. Goldwire has a good anchor despite not being a heavy tackle but also has room to grow. What scouts like as much as the physical traits is Goldwire has improved every season at Louisville. Goldwire’s statistics have improved every season he’s seen snaps. Last season, Goldwire tallied 22 total tackles, five tackles for loss and two sacks. This season Goldwire has eclipsed his tackle total from last season with 26 total tackles already and is on pace to have more tackles for loss and sacks than last season.
