I have no issue with guys getting hurt in the normal course of events - that's the nature of football (unfortunately). This however was completely avoidable, and BS put himself in this position, that's what really stings . . . . .

Oh Hi richpjr. The usual double ball sacks?

Richpjr: No, give me 2 dozen as I'm having a Powder Blues message board party.

Vendor: .Here you go. See you tomorrow.
And of course the actual point is ignored. Saying he won't be fired by the team has nothing to do with whether one likes or dislikes Staley. Same thing as saying Lombardi's play calling was affected by the number of injuries doesn't make one the president of his fan club. But it is a public forum and reading comprehension is evidently not always a wide spread thing, so bravo on this attempt at humor that completely misses the point!

Joe Lombardi just sent Staley a box of chocolates for taking the heat of him.

The one compliment I have for Lombardi is he owns up to his mistakes. Two times this season he acknowledged he played too conservatively. That’s taking ownership.

Instead, Staley didn’t take Herbert out of the KC game after he was hurt because he said Herbert “wanted to play”. Staley said his players wanted to play in Denver.

To hell with those excuses. It was your decision to play or not play them and you should have understood the consequences.

The consequence in this case should be his job.

Sorry should have clarified. Granted, has had injuries to deal with.

IMHO, MW and KA needed to play. They have missed a lot of time this season. Let's face it the Offense hasn't been hitting on all 6 cylinders this year. Also, the win % isn't any better win resting the starters before a playoff game.

He has done something other than win against any seriously good football team he has played this year. Still has yet to beat a serious team this year. Miami was the only team he beat with a winning record this year.

I get it but it doesn't change the fact that he got them to the PO's.

He has Justin Herbert. That should be the standard, The bare minimum.
