We still could have kept him and he wouldn't have even been playing for us if Rivers was in camp on time. Brees played great in New Orleans the very next season. If we had that level of QB play on our 2006 team I think we have a better shot at a championship.

If Rivers has more experience I don't think he struggles as much late in the 2006 season.

I'm still not following your logic. Brees was playing lights out in the 2004 training camp. I believe he wins the QB job even if Rivers reported on time.
