It would be nice if he was ready to play. But those highlight have him running option stuff a bunch, and I don't think we are going to run an option offense like that. plus, how many big time throws did he make in those highlights? I didn't see any. He had some OK throws to wide open receivers. He hit some covered guys, but the throws weren't that impressive. And there weren't that many of them.
I like Mariotta, and you have to respect his decision making and reads, he doesn't put the ball in position to get picked off a lot. But he is a ways away from being a NFL ready QB. I don't think any of the QB in this draft class are. And as far as being able to throw and be competitive, I am not sure we can't get a developmental type guy like Hurdley or Petty later on, and not need to spend a top pick who is going to sit for a year or two.

Watch these highlights and tell me you would trade rivers for this guy?
It would be one thing if mm was going to learn from pr for a year or two.
This could easily be a rg3 or Colin kapersuck
The alarming fact was he missed too many throws and took to many hits.
I like mobile qbs like tannehill or Rodgers but I see nothing in mm that comes is to those cats.
I can't say what I think about come cause I don't want fleet to get sued.

Anyone remember the last time Rivers was extended? That morning, ESPN's Len Pastabelly ran a story that the two sides were nowhere close to a deal and in fact weren't even talking anymore. That afternoon, the announcement came that Rivers had agreed to a new contract extension.
Today's media template is if you don't have any sources with anything new, make shit up. So I'm not buying any of this.2025 Adoptee: #0 Daiyan Henley, LB, Washington State (2023 Rd 3)

Do you think Rivers is somewhat using Kevin Acee to send a message that he will not play in LA? In other words, NO CARSON? (Best reference to Johnny Carson I could manage).

No, because Rivers doesn't operate like that. I just think Rivers is honest. A lot of people think he's trying to get leverage, or force a trade, but I just think he's being asked a question and answering it. My guess is that whatever he has communicated to Acee has been communicated to the Chargers behind closed doors as well. I just don't see PR as the use-the-media type. He's just a genuine dude.

Essentially trading Rivers to move up 15 spots is a fireable offense for Telesco in my view
I also don't think Mariotta is a Franchise QB....would rather have Winston but really none of the QB's are franchise QB's like Rivers is.
If Rivers won't sign an extension Franchising the maximum times seems like the only choice....Chargers have the leverage if you don't listen to all the chatterLast edited by BlazingBolt; 04-17-2015, 01:48 PM.migrated from chargerfans.net then the thenflforum.com then here
