I'm glad things worked out for him too.....his Dad though well meaning was just too much....I read his mom filed for divorce because she couldn't stand to watch it anymore..

On a side note my best friend in High School had the same experience but on the "Academic" side of things. His dad rode him hard from day one, he pushed for advancement bypassing 4th grade to go to 5th.....when he finally went to College ( top private college ) he bombed out right away and never went back

That scenario plays out all too often. Just my opinion on child rearing, but being to aggressive and strict can really backfire.

Someone who moved to Idaho 37 years ago? I have met several surfing "legends" living here though.
