not only did our starters not play but they did not even suit up and go through the pre game routine and warmups....

My biggest hope is that Staley is an actual genius and he has the team ready to play out of their minds....

Both Bobby Ross and Coryell took a few or several games to turn the team around....so it may take some time,,,.. if Staley gets a great professional game(especially a winning one) out of all of our players tomorrow, he may truly be the great coach the Chargers have been looking for most of the teams existence.......

Staley seems like an overly nice guy.... I wonder how he will react when inevitably something goes wrong? will he lose it, or will he just have a peaceful politically correct conversation? =)
Coryell took the team over nearly mid season, ie no off season or training camp and turned them into winner that season. He would have crushed it if he had as much time as Staley has had. No excuses

Fitz also has surprising movement skills for his age. Six running TDs in past 24 games. He actually led Dolphins in rushing in 2019, which is both hysterical and absolutely true.
In his prime, Fitzpatrick ran a 4.87 40. That might be "surprising movement skills" relative to Philip Rivers, but that makes him a slow QB that is even slower now that he is older. While Smith on one leg was not better than Fitzpatrick, pre-injury/infection Smith was better than Fitzpatrick. Smith was a three time Pro Bowl player. Fitzpatrick has never been anything except a fringe starter/backup QB. Both QBs have a career YPA of 6.9 so your aggressiveness argument seems somewhat overstated.

I'm predicting two INTs and one strip sack fumble for the Bolts' D tomorrow.

Lions fans said that the issue with Lombardi at OC was that each formation had limited plays so the opposing defense was calling out the plays beforehabd (sound familiar)

This is not in any way how Staley, or Payton, or Shanahan, or any of the systems we are basing this off of is supposed to run so for whatever reason he couldn't get the O system implemented while there. Hopefully he's learned from past mistakes and Staley is better at supporting this than Caldwell was.

Fitz could definitely throw 2 int's. I don't know about the strip sack, seems like he was pretty good at holding the ball, doesn't have a habit of fumbling.

One other interesting name for you guys to watch is TE Sammis Reyes. Definitely not a huge name,, he is an international player with nearly zero experience, but in preseason he had some crazy blocks. If your DL does start making headway they may bring him in as an extra blocker.

Are there other 38 year old QB who move like this? Maybe, but...as I said...SURPRISING

You're right and I agree there are no excuses.

But Charge! was correct that both coaches started slow, Ross at 0-4 and Coryell at 1-3.

What the hell happened here? Buck up, bolt ladies. WFT is not the 85 Bears. They suffer the enormous strategic preparation disadvantage in that they have no clue what to prepare for. This isn’t Lombardi’s NO offense and certainly not the offense they ran the last 5 or so years, Its a fusion of multiple inputs by the diverse staff Staley hand selected for this purpose, all designed to maximize the best players to be in position to be their best.

Staley’s D also won’t be a carbon copy of the LAR. He tailored that scheme based on the two best players he had in Donald and Ramsey. He will tweak this defense fo the talent he has now.

WFT, on the other hand, is known entity. Rivera is not an out of the box innovative genius. He’s not even a traditional genius. Stop worrying that you haven’t seen it yet - be glad that WFT hasn’t seen it either. Big Advantage Bolts.

that's what i remembered..... Ross won all but one game the rest of the year to finish 11-5

I loved the last 3 or 4 games of that season with Coryell ..... Fouts and company averaged over 40 points per game... routing everyone.....

The Ross squad was not that talented, not close to the current roster imo.

Derwin will have at least one enormous, momentum-shifting, game-wrecking play that will shatter Fitztragic’s confidence.
Our quarterback is a golden god.

I agree. Will be hard for WFT to prepare for our D. There’s no tape yet other than the 2020 LAR but we have different players so it won’t be exactly the same.
