Brady wins, initially. Stupid story that shouldn't have been a story will still be a story.

As much as I hate Brady and the Pats, I'm hoping this becomes the domino that takes down Goodell, easily the worst commissioner in NFL history.

Have the Patriots ever won the Super Bowl without cheating? I don't think so. I remember when LT said the Patriots and Belichick go by the motto "That if you aren't cheating you aren't trying." He said that before they were caught the first time. Could LT have been more accurate?

Brady can be fined but not suspended for his part is harbly a declaration of innocence rather Goodel is getting bitchslapped for overreach.
          Go Rivers!

Did he destroy his cellphone or not? Did he obstruct the investigation?

The legal question is what kind of real authority does Goodell have? Can he conduct a formal investigation complete with unequivocal punishment power without giving the accused due process, like equal access to evidence, ample time for response, etc. The judge had a problem with that kind of heavy-handed overreach.

              • The Cheats get away with cheating again. Awesome.

correct. I'm sure he's guilty as anyone. But they way Roger hands out punishment (seemingly at his whim), is what was found to be overreaching.

Wouldn't be the first time Goodell accommodated them.

This is what happens when you destroy all the tapes.
                      Prediction:
                      Correct: Chargers CI fails miserably.
Fail: Team stays in San Diego until their lease runs out in 2020. (without getting new deal done by then) .
Sig Bet WIN: The Chargers will file for relocation on January 15.

This was a very predictable ending.
The opening game of the year NE/Pitt.....anyone really believe that Goodell and the NFL wanted the biggest
story of the new year to be Brady being suspended? Hell no.

They knew that if they stuck to their absurd 4 game suspension....it would get thrown out.

Perhaps Goodell has some egg on his face but in the end they got what they wanted. One of the biggest names on the field opening night.

Well, then there you have it. If you're caught cheating, just destroy the evidence.

And then after football, you can go work for the State Department.
