The cost of hosting an Olympic Games in San Diego could exceed $3 billion, USOC Chief Executive Officer Scott Blackmun said last year when the organization sent out feelers to mayors of 35 U.S. cities considered potential hosts.
Touted as the "Legacy Olympics" (and at $14.8 billion in London, a bargain compared to Sochi's reported $51 billion cost), these games would be, promised then Foreign Secretary Jack Straw, "a force for regeneration," a chance to address East London's maladies.
3bil vs 14.8 and 51 bil... We are GETTING OFF CHEAP!
Hey, the contraction for We Are, WE'RE, is Selma!Last edited by KNSD; 05-28-2015, 03:54 PM.Prediction:
Correct: Chargers CI fails miserably.
Fail: Team stays in San Diego until their lease runs out in 2020. (without getting new deal done by then) .
Sig Bet WIN: The Chargers will file for relocation on January 15.

Scary gods, not the Olympics. Whoever gets the Olympics has the wrath of Hades to deal with.

If you think that getting the Olympics would solve our stadium issues, well it really won't. Not only would the stadium be much bigger than we would need for the Chargers the fact you will have a track around it puts people too far from the field. I did a little drawing to illustrate this. The dimensions are correct:
