  • There's also that continuous undercurrent that we've all discussed, about how it seems that Telesco is slowly jettisoning
all the A.J. drafted players. Who knows, but that may play into it (?).

He wants to get younger and faster - something he has mentioned on several occasions.

Would seem an odd reason one year after resigning Butler and in the midst of talks with Liuget.

I don't think this is true, but if TT's only reason for not extending Weddle is because someone else drafted him, then he deserves to be fired.

All signs point to Weddle not getting an offer/extension after this season as well...The writing is kind of on the Wall. They're talking with Rivers & Liuget about extensions and they're on the same boat as Weddle. I can see fans are getting technical and pointing out that they just said that they won't offer him an extension "This Year" but it's likely he won't get an extension offer the following year/season too.

I'm sure if Weddle and his Agent went to the bargaining table after this season and said that he'll play for a home town discount, Well then, things would be different and he might remain a Charger, But it looks like Weddle wants #1 or close to it, So I doubt the Chargers are gonna bother with making him an offer, Only to have him feel disrespected again.

I think Weddle is a bit different than Rivers and Liuget. Rivers is older, but plays a position where a drop in speed won't really affect him (I mean can he really get slower?). And Liuget is a much younger player. To me, it seems they just want to make sure that Weddle doesn't turn old this year like Palamalu suddenly did with the Steelers a few years ago. I'd guess if he shows no signs of slowing down, they will offer him a short contract next season. We'll see if he wants to stay or go somewhere where I am sure he can get a longer deal.

its a common theme. Fans want the current front office/coaches to succeed so much, that they lost all objectivity.

When the leader on offense and defense are having issue with the team there are problems

Maybe 2015 will be OUR "Victory Lap"? Rivers, Gates, Floyd, Weddle...all gone after this season? Maybe even the entire TEAM (i.e., out of SD)? I've grown numb to it all. But I've never been the fan that most here are.

it doesn't take very long to overhaul a roster, just look at how the bolts roster looked from 2004-2006 compared to 2003....although it helped to have a 4 win season and lots of first day picks

Wouldn't mind a new leader on D. Don't know if Weddle is losing physical skills, but that fake punt fiasco makes me wonder about him losing good football judgement. Also wonder if other players think that, cuz that was one of the stupidest things I've ever seen on a football team.

Leader on of fence is negotiating... Leader on defence wants a new contract and will be 31 in Jan. Will Weddle get 7.5 mill anywhere next year?
