I live in the bay area and it is a pretty wierd. The 49ers hire Harbaugh as HC and Trent Baalke as GM, they have success with Harbaugh who is a total asshole, but a total asshole who knows how to win. Baalke thinks the team is successful because of the players he brought in and ANY head coach could win with the talent he brought in; Harbaugh says you were total losers before I got here and you will be total losers after I leave, so go fuck yourself and let me run the team fuck face. Meanwhile Jed York thinks they are winners because of his decisions as owner and not of small ego either, doesn't like Harbaugh's I'm a winner and you guys are losers routine. Head office starts spreading rumours that some players don't like Harbaugh's style etc. etc.. Let the back biting begin.
So last year Harbaugh almost gets traded, that falls through and he is dead man walking all year, injuries and outside distractions mount and by Thnakgiving Harbaugh can't keep the winning going and they miss the playoffs. They let Harbaugh walk, mutual agreement.
Now they bring in the new Head Coach, the former OL coach, the players are unimpressed and start rethinking their situations and start walking, retiring and leaving in mass. Some hint they would have stayed for Harbaugh ... thought they were Superbowl contenders and now switching to rebuilding mode.
HC's and players are the stars of the NFL and the front office staffers are just support, as soon as your GM starts becoming the news story your team is in trouble.
49ers are going to finish out of the playoffs for several years, they should have kept the asshole and had a chance to win the Superbowl.
Two-three egos trying to claim credit for the same success is just pathetic ... sad to see. But it happens all the time at work, in sports and in medicine (thinking the story of insulin), straight up ... sucees was because of Harbaugh ... asshole or not.

The guy that brings in the talent is the important guy. Anybody can win with talent, nobody can win without talent. And in the end, it's all about the players. Treat your stars right.Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Correct: Chargers CI fails miserably.
Fail: Team stays in San Diego until their lease runs out in 2020. (without getting new deal done by then) .
