Higher priority than our QB and safety.

    Cheers.

Who says it's a higher priority than signing Rivers? It takes two to tango...

I'm not sure we even need to reduce it this year. It seems that we have a few million left over, and there aren't any big FAs out there that require heavy cap hits to sign, so we're probably okay on that regard.

It always comes down to how much is guaranteed.

Whos not to say that Rivers & an extension is still in the works and they haven't agreed on anything yet. As for Weddle..Well he's dug himself into a pretty deep hole that he's going to have to play himself out of. He's already gotten his big pay day and he's demanding another one. TT is doing the right thing by playing it safe. I'm sure TT is going to try and get a few years out of Weddle with out an extension, And if he doesn't demand a trade, Then we will see if he shows signs of regression. At that point if he does show that his speed and skill aren't the same, Would you want to give him a top Saftey pay day ?

Lets not hijack this thread into Weddle or Rivers thread.

If our Dline had an anchor Liuget is it. Honestly I think he's a little under-appreciated here. Not saying he's elite, but he is a durable and above average player (dare I say good?) who has never had anyone decent around him as a compliment. He draws all the attention when you look at our Dline. He's a solid veteran presence, with plenty of good years left in him. I'm glad he'll be spending them in a Bolt uniform.

                    Great job, Telesco!

Liuget is a young, durable, ascending player. Easily and by far the best DL on this team and one of the better ones in the league. And he is taking on more of a leadership role, too. Would have been easy for Telesco to remember how the Butler deal has worked out so far and shy away from this. But I think it is a really good move.

He is the only D-lineman who has shown the ability to take over a game. IMO a good move by TT.

Wowza...that's a ton of money for a guy who has shown flashes, but hasn't really lived up to his 1st-round status, IMO. Maybe, as TG said, he's "ascending" and now is the perfect time to lock him up, long term. But, gosh, that sounds like premium dough for a not-yet-premium player.
