I know...what does that say about the defense? Staley just may be the genius everybody said he was, though he does have James and Tranquill, who did not play last season.

I think what makes me excited about what could be is that I saw Staley tonight after a pass play immediately let a player know he was late on his assignment. So, I don't think it's a coincidence the Chargers are holding opponents to season lows, even with small sample size. I think it's because Staley is a maniac about defense and football.

He has a mind/memory to stay ahead of new competing innovations.

First thing not related is Gus is blitzing a lot! Where was that the past few years?!

Anyway, play calling could be a little better, love that we go for it on 4th down but that 4th & 2 play we pass 15 yards to Cook and it was very lucky. A screen pass to Ek is guaranteed 3 yards everytime.

Def not enough screen passes to Ek, a few to JJ then they pull him for some reason.
Be nice to pitch the ball to Ek like we used to LT and have him race around the outside corner too.

More intelligent passes to MW with a 8 inch advantage would of been nice.
