As for the game, Herbert looked shaky and KA had some drops. MW only had one catch and besides that bad overthrow by Herbert not many targets. If you had told me going in that Herbert would be off and KA and MW would combine for under 50 yards I never would have thought we would win.
but tonight was for the RBs and TEs and defense. 1st half was the best defensive half by a Charger team in years, decades, history? Got a bit shaky in the 3rd but tightened when they had to and good for Derwin closing it out.
really tho it was all about Staley. Huge balls on the 4th down calls and great challenge on the Raiders first down. He’s got these guy improving and I believe.
we have a ridiculous s hedule to open the season. To be 3-1 in the guys first 4 games is outstanding. We can play much better as well

Tonight the Chargers actually stopped the run for the first time this season .....the past 3 games when we did not stop the run, so no one attempted to throw downfield because they did not have to...... but today we also gave up a huge pass play and a huge PI...... which we have not given up this season.....
My discussion is not6 nonsense....the things i said were true.... the raiders beat 3 very strong defenses prior to this game and struck quickly in 2nd half to make this a one score game, displaying that they have ability...... but Chargers re-grouped and responded with a long scoring drive to put game away..... which was impressive..... this team is learning how to win close games...something they have not done since Bobby Ross......
Tonight's long PI call was BS.and the long completion was an anomaly. Every team will give up at least a few of those over the course of a season.
The Raiders beat a BAL team that had no time to adjust due to key injuries involved in their run game and in their pass defense and still needed to fumble in both the 4th quarter and OT to let the Raiders win. The Dolphins were playing Brissett against the Raiders and still almost beat them. Miami's defense is averaging 27.25 points scored against it per game.
All three of BAL, PIT and MIA are in the bottom half of the league in pass defense. Again, your post is complete fiction.
We are the only team that the Raiders have played that is even in the top 50% of pass defenses and we shut them down and held them to their lowest point total of the season and those points were hugely penalty aided.Last edited by Guest; 10-05-2021, 12:03 AM.

The 2009 playoff loss to the Jets is the only one where i thought he blew it.

It was good to see the Bolts ready to play tonight. You could tell from the start they were fired-up and focused, unlike the Dallas game. Got a chance to see Merrill play, which was a treat. Don't know why the brain-trust that could build such a beautiful stadium could not figure out the logistics of parking. It took us a full hour to get out of the lot. I know many of you view Raiders fans as the Devil's spawn but the majority of them we encountered were quite civil, although they were very vocal. I'd take them over Eagles fans any day. The future is looking very bright, my friends, enjoy the moment.

Go watch Staley’s press conference. Dude is juiced up talking a mile a minute. About the 4th downs he said Herbert has 100% of his trust because he’s earned it the way he works and plays. Says Herbert is so calm that it makes him calm. Interesting

Rivers put up 298 yards against the #1 rated pass defense in the NFL that day and it would have been so much more if the receivers could have caught anything (like 350+ yards).
