Feiler 2 Sacks Allowed

Don't anyone get me wrong--this was a GREAT win over the Raiders, who played us tough in the second half until we pulled away. However, going forward, I'm wondering what happened with Matt Feiler--two sacks allowed vs. Philon. On the first sack, Philon (yellow) slips right past Feiler (red) for a clear shot at Herbie:

We just can't allow Herbie to get body-slammed like this:

Philon had 9.5 sacks in 4 YEARS with us, and he suddenly gets TWO in one game...Feiler has been pretty solid for us, but it has been said he's better at RT than G. On the other hand, Norton has improved the past two games. Hopefully, this was just a blip, and Feiler gets it together next game...

Exactly he and Slater are left on Islands so the right side can help Storming Norman at RT. This was an anomaly not a portent of things to come.

Slater let one guy come in untouched and then Feiler did the same thing. I think there must have been some confusion about responsibilities.

I never went back and checked who it was that let the guy untouched through to Herbie. Saw it looked like a complete botch by trying to cover the same guy. Feiler clearly got confused. I had thought it was Slater on the first one. I think its fixable...communication issue. The 2nd one a bad angle/technique?

I'm not worried.....for all the kitchen sink the Duhs were throwing we were still effective.

I kind of think Philon played above himself because the Chargers gave up on him. The OL probably wasn't prepared for that from a 3rd stringer.

I had no doubt the former Chargers were hyped. I think Herbert avoided Hayward by plan, but he had no issue with going to guys covered by Perryman. Philon is not a bad player, just a journeyman whose initial contract ran out.
