Chargers have a top 5 group of CB's

In a recent ranking of the top 100 CB's on the NFL the Chargers were one of a handful of teams that had 4 or more CB's ranked in the top 100.

Our top 4 were:

11 Jason Verrett
16 Brandon Flowers
51 Patrick Robinson
87 Jimmy Wilson

Only the Browns, Seahawks and Vikings had a higher ranked quartet than the Chargers. Only the Jets with 6 and Seahawks with 5 had more CB's on list.

And that is without looking at the Safeties which are decent for us at 71-51 and Eric waddle at number 1.

Our secondary is going to be awesome, top 5, maybe even top 2 in the NFL of we stay healthy .

And get this, if we have to put the #5 CB on the field, we get FASTER as that brings in Steve Williams, the fastest guy on the fucking team!

The lack of a pass rush can still cripple our secondary.

The lack of pass rush is still the #1 problem. The secondary is pretty good, but most nfl qb can keep dumping the ball off on short, safe passes all day unless we can pressure the qb into some bad throws.

If we can get more penetration on run plays, that would make our run D dramatically better as well. Nothing gets a run offense frustrated more then 2nd or 3rd and long.

At this point in his career, Verrett should not be ranked the number 11 CB - let alone ranked higher than Flowers. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he finished the year deserving that ranking, but at this point I strongly disagree.

I think its better with Mager factored in. He is easily our best run defending DB. TT said he will be a CB. But i think he takes over for Weddle when hes gone.
