One has a better chance of being the next Ryan Mathews.

Honestly id say that may be Gurley based on his injuries....

I personally think Gordon is in the right system to excel. He was a run, run, run team and they still couldnt stop the run. His big runs mainly are due to his acceleration and agility when getting past the 1st level guys which gets me excited. He has the skills to be a big time threat on this offense. That said we need improved blocking by the OL but I think we have that addressed by the additions this year.

I think Gordon will play ck up the passing game given practice. We have a great combo with Woody now so i expect a productive run game this year....and that may get us back in the hunt in the playoffs.

Our Oline stays healthy, our O should beat all comers, Rivers + rushing attack = Ws.

Only thing we're missing on O is a fullback on 'roids.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Gordon has the thing that separates the good from the elite: patience. Watching his college tape and he gave me LT flashbacks with how he would let his blocks develop then bam he was gone.

Do we have players who can develop blocks?

That might be tough, because you wait for blocks in a power scheme, which is what we played when LT was around. Now we play a zone scheme where the plays hit a lot faster. The RB is NEVER supposed to wait for them to develop. He makes his read on the blocks and then cuts and goes. RB who try to wait in zone blocking are soon for the unemployment line.

I thought the Chargers were predominantly a power scheme with some ZBS thrown in .... Shanahan and Kubiak might be the only pure ZBS teams out there.
