The real issue on his runs last week was the OL poor performance. Barksdale not protecting the backside, Franklin whiffing.... Not a lot of all pro RB can do much if the D has an unopposed defender running right at the RB.
If Gordon misses a week, it just means the OL is going to have to focus on their assignments more closely. The confidence and decisiveness on Gordon's part will happen when the OL gives him a reason to be that way. Same with a QB hitting his receivers. You let the QB down, he doesn't have the confidence in you on 3rd down.
Look what happened on the plays where they did block well... Woodhead basically walks into the endzone, Gordon had a nice run... They will get there, but this is an important week, and the OL needs to go in and be more assignment sound, get their guys and the rest will take care of itself.Comment
