Linsley, Feiler, and Oboushi would show we’ve had some good signings.

I think going after mid level guys tends to be the sort of thing that more often works out in free agency.

The big name guys seem to have a lower success rate.

FA is always a crapshoot. For every solid signing like Lindsley an Feiler, there's an Orlando Franklin, Meachem, Cox or Gaither...

Next Season I would like the Chargers to get either in the draft or FA a RT, resign Aboushi. Then put a hell of a lot into D line and DB. Between White and Tranquil I am OK with out LB ahead of the D line and DB situation.

If we can get 2 or more good DL then the rest of this defense will look a hell of a lot better.

A solid R/T and a healthy Aboushi will make our O line a hell of a lot better.

That's the problem with FA. Teams don't let the guys you really want to have become FA. They get resigned and never are available

Every year we go through this, we have money who do we sign .... not guy A, he has an injury history ... not guy B he has had bad seasons 2 of the last 4 years ............ etc.... and before long you have eliminated half or more of the available FA

I'm not a big fan of signing UFA, but one way to make better signings of FA is to take players who have performed well for KC, so at least they don't have them. Then even if they don't perform well for us, KC doesn't have them and has to waste resources filling the holes.

OT - Orlando Brown
CB - Charvarius Ward or CB Mike Hughes
DB - Tyrann Mathieu - play Star or Money like he has been in KC
DT - Jarren Reed

All of these guys would potentially upgrade a hole on our roster and would be a significant hole that would need to be filled for KC. They have something in the neighborhood of $30 mill in cap space, but a fair number of holes and a number of these positions could cost them a lot. That also doesn't count the amount that they need to sign their draft picks.

And about It would cost us a lot to sign them, but we have more than 2x the cap space.

Also, Schoefield, Norton and Pipkins all played pretty well tonight.

Orlando "I'm a Left Tackle" Brown? Doesn't seem like a fit here...the rest? Maybe...but I am of a mind, as far as very general strategy, to further bolster oline quality and depth through free agency...give Herbie a reliable, seasoned line, and continue to develop some youngins behind vets (Slater the exception, of course...) Thorough protection and a viable run game thru the oline...and then draft BPA with an emphasis on defense...maybe a RB early....but it's early....my views may change in the offseason. But however decent Pip, Storm, and Scho did in the last game...I wouldn't ink them in...I would look to do better. They should all be backups...they are backups for all that...need to make sure, coming out of camp, that they resume those roles, if they are still here, because we have added players (or some have gotten healthy like aboushi) that are better.
