He’s in chase mode because he made technical errors, not because he can’t physically run with WRs. height has nothing to do with it. he’s a rookie and he’s made mistakes on some plays. He’ll get smarter and better. We absolutely need another top shelf CB though, it’s not either or. They need both. A top DB that can play both in the slot and outside on an island. Tall DBs are great in theory but only if they are also great cover guys - finding that combo is hard because taller guys tend to be less able to quickly react and adjust to motion change - its kinetics or something. The few are superb but they get more and more rare the more you look for height until eventually you’re hunting unicorns. Hunt for a great cover CB and don’t worry about his height. Jmo, what do i know?

Darious Williams will be a free agent. Balled with Staley last year. He’ll cost about $12-14M/year. We can afford it. He’ll be 29 next season though.
