IDL Forrest Merrill and WR Maurice Ffrench have been cut, as has UDFA QB Brandon Peters an two others. Roster down to 85.

I can't say specifically for *this* particular football administration, but in general, examples are often made of guys who are longshots to make the roster.

Late for your weight room workout? So noted. EARLY CUT!

Cop an attitude and/or get aggressive with one of the club's associate employees? CUT!

Fell asleep in a position film review session? CUT!

It sends the broader message that you can't "cut corners", or have a separate set of rules for yourself. Only the peripheral player is directly affected, but EVERYone gets the message. . .
