Funny story...

As a kid growing up in Julian, there was one public swimming pool that all of the the local kids went to for summer swimming... Convair.
I guess your family bought property up in Julian as a place for their employees to go to camp/meet/swim. It would be open for public use during the summer. I learned how to swim there.

One day, while driving by General Dynamics... my dad mentioned the Convair Corproration. I replied, "Like the swimming pool...?" LOL!

I honestly have never heard that. Great stuff thanks for sharing that.

The Ruben H Fleet Center was a place we used to take the kids frequently.
I used to get high and watch the laser shows with my buddies in HS.
Good times... good times...

Bro i did the same. lol There is a new show there that is sort psychedelic that i hear is amazing. Its called Beautifica. Rock The Dome was also cool.

I was sober and innocent at 12 or 13 years old watching those same laser shows.
probably next to a few of you old guys while you all were high. Ha.

Getting dropped off by my friend's mom. etc.

Its a lot of fun. They used to let me play with the star machine as a kid. I would always take my friends under the theater to see that.

They had a Pink Floyd laser show going there at one point in the latter 70s/80s. For the life of me I can’t remember if it was exclusively Dark Side or also expanded to Wish U Were Here; I can only recall it was before Animals and The Wall so I guess it was 70s not 80s. Me n my long haired friends fully partook in the experience a couple times as well. Ahh to be young, free and high … San Diego was the best place in the world in the late 70s/early 80s

Thats sweet you used to get high and take your kids there, some HS fathers would just leave their kids at home
