Look at Denver...they ran a bunch of plays out of the pistol Sunday night to try to see if they could jumpstart their offense. While they didn't set the world on fire, it did seem to help things a bit but at least they're trying something different because clearly what they had been doing the first two games on offense was even worse. Took them 2 games to realize this.
Will McCoy/Reich ever do something similar? I mentioned in the Cincy thread that we waited until the 4th quarter to run our first screen against their over-aggressive defensive front. It's like these guys have tunnel vision in terms of what plays to run. I realize the OL injuries may limit what plays can be called...but you can also make the argument that a good coach would also try to change things up to better mask his players' deficiencies. Reich does NONE of this. Not sure how much control McCoy has over the overall offensive gameplan but in being passive he just self-fulfills the Milktoast moniker.
I am souring way fast on this entire staff. Nothing has changed in the last 5+ years. And dare I say it...this team is almost boring to watch on top of everything else.
