He was a 17-game starter last season and set career highs with 3.5 sacks, seven quarterback hits and 72 tackles (six for loss). Johnson should get a chance to compete for a starting defensive tackle job somewhere.

Those 72 tackles are a lot more production than any NT/DT we got. Literally an upgrade from a stats perspective.

Good run stuffing DT, not much in the way of a pass rusher. I guess the combo of him and Tillery would work out okay.

Jones was good at run stopping, but not much of a pass rusher; just okay at it. This combo is the same thing as the Jones and Tillery combo.

Fehoko and Gaziano outplayed Joseph and Tillery down the stretch.

They even provided a spark in the absence of overrated Justin Jones.

I don’t think Jones was overrated at all. He kind of held that line together when it was just him and the backups, playing more snaps than everyone. His main issue is past injuries and lack of pass rush.
