  • Prisco's Top 100 NFL Players

Prisco just dropped his annual Top 100 NFL Players. And, of course, I'm ready to denigrate it as usual. But it does raise some interesting thoughts.

The Chargers have the most players in the top 100. But, he doesn't have a single Charger in the top 10 and only ONE in the top 20 (Herbert at #20). Only three in the top 50.

As I ponder it, he may not be too far off (though Derwin is probably too low on this list, when healthy). The Chargers DO have a lot of great, solid players (Ekeler, Bosa, Jackson, James, Allen) but don't seem to have that one electric playmaker on offense or defense that changes a game or gets mind-popping stats week in and week out.

So, ya. He's probably close to correct with this list (tons of studs, no #1 at their position players).

We'll see how that shakes out this season.
Pete Prisco keeps Tom Brady near the top even at nearly 45, while the Chargers have the most in top 100

Does it matter? The players will come out with their votes for the top 100 later and it will be different than Prisco and like Madden rankings, some players won't like their rank.

Yeah, it really doesn't matter... its still a team game, and wins matter. If I were a player, I'd be motivated to be higher on the list.

Agree and having the most in the top 100 is better than a couple in the top 10.

Health is key. Bosa was like 25 or so on that list but missed some games so others have to pick up the slack. So having more better players helps.
Bosa wont get triple teamed with Mack on the other side.

Mike Williams doesn't even get honorable mention.

hmm, interesting. McCaffrey got a honorable mention and he has only played 10 games the last 2 seasons.

Herbert had 2nd most passing yards in NFL…an accurate piss missile cannon and is a flexing bulged arm away from starting just his 3rd year in the league….uh yah i sure get Prisco. While Herbie hasnt won playoffs (yet) he has huge talent to mirror or exceed the top qbs in the nfl and has laid a sophmore season of pretty untouched numbers. If he had a better D the playoffs would easily have been there. As a player hes a game changer. Hard not to out him top 15 or 10.

I have said it before and I will say it again--Herbert is the best player in the NFL right now. Prisco's rankings are a joke.

Prisco's previous years talent list with players who made the playoffs. No real insight and I'd rather rely on other analysts. No imagination.

Super bowl Bound 2023. Yeah Baby!

As they used to say in the old "Official" Chargers message board. He's an idiot when his opinion of the chargers is negative. A genius when it's positive. That goes for all pundits.
