Bears say Matt Forte, Eddie Royal injures not season ending
Posted by Michael David Smith on November 2, 2015, 2:59 PM EST

AP
Two key players on the Bears’ offense left yesterday’s loss to the Vikings with knee injuries, but both will be back.
Bears coach John Fox said today that running back Matt Forte and receiver Eddie Royal are still being evaluated after their knee injuries yesterday. But Fox does not think either player’s season is over. Fox added that neither Royal nor Forte is not expected to need any surgery.
After the Bears turned into sellers on the trade market with the Jared Allen and Jon Bostic trades, there was some talk that Forte could be traded as well. But this injury makes it a near certainty that Forte won’t be traded before tomorrow’s deadline — even though Forte isn’t out for the season, a team isn’t going to trade for a player who’s recovering from an injury.
Forte has been the Bears’ best offensive player, with 136 carries for 548 yards and 25 catches for 219 yards. Royal leads all of the Bears’ wide receivers with 26 catches this season. Losing both of them would be a significant blow to the Bears’ offense, but the Bears expect to have both of them back.Go Rivers!
