In 1961 we played the Dallas Texans (KC Chiefs now) in week one. We beat them at Dallas 26-10.
In week two we played the raiders in San Diego (our first regular season home game in SD). We walloped the raiders 44-0. My late wife and I were at that game in Balboa stadium. It was a very hot day but we sure enjoyed it.

The 2-0 start was great. Here's hoping we can match it this time.
It’s amazing to have you starting the OGDT!

go chargers. Win however it happens is fine with me

I think it’s a 50-50 game. Bolts play two deep zone and hopefully come up with an INT or 2 to win the game. And Mack wreaks havoc again.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Chiefs have been rebuilt to do a lot of short and intermediate stuff. The two deep safety look was used to neutralize the vertical passing attacks and it worked somewhat well. Andy has retooled to deal with this.

Look for Bosa to get his tonight, the double/triple teams will be swinging to Mack.

Also better to get the short week over early in the season while bodies are still fresh and the KC visit over while still warm.

          Let's do this!!

I should probably be more excited about this one, but I'm really just hoping for no major injuries. I expect a sloppy game. If we get the W then great, but if we don't and everyone escapes relatively healthy, I'm ok with that. Long season ahead.

Reid vs Lombardi? That’s a mismatch.

Last year’s team beat them, and should have beat them twice. KC is as dangerous as they come but we have the team to take them down. As always with two good teams, which team plays the better 60.

Chief receivers will likely do a lot of chipping to slow Bosa and Mack so that will help our DB’s react to slower route development.

Josh Palmer saw little action too. All three of these guys are involved tonight hopefully.

Who on the Bolts' defense can help shift the tide of the game toward the blue and gold? There are plenty of candidates-- Derwin, Bosa, Asante Samuel... But a couple of players will have to step up with key, momentum shifting plays.
In my opinion, if the Chargers win, it will because of the defense. It will be because the defense made a stop(s) and got turnovers. One thing I am pretty sure of, Mahomes won't repeat what he did in Ariz. The Chargers know him too well, they know how to defend him. Mahomes usually doesn't have big games against the Chargers. This game will be a big test to see if Staley's defensive vision is taking shape.

The Chargers aren't going to blitz on 54% of the plays like the Cardinals did. I'm sure we'll try and keep him in the box, something the Chiefs have been working on all offseason to counter.

In the end it will come down to players making plays and who makes more will win.
