Its nice to hire a young coach who has kind of done something. But Staley didn't do a thing. I just think when the Rams and Bolts started sharing Sofi ole Staley put the quick sale on Telesco or Spanos or somebody...and he got hired. Were were all like WTF is this Staley guy? Nobody as we know now.

Brandon began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Northern Illinois from 2006 to 2008 before working with defensive linemen and special teams at Division III St. Thomas in 2009. In 2010 and 2011 Staley served as the associate head coach and defensive coordinator at Hutchinson Community College. He spent the 2012 season at Tennessee as a graduate assistant. Staley would then spend three seasons (2013, 2015, 2016) as the defensive coordinator/secondary coach with John Carroll University.[6] 2014 was spent as the defensive coordinator/linebackers coach at James Madison University.[7]

Not exactly Alabama or Ohio states...

    Chicago Bears

In 2017, Staley was hired by the Chicago Bears as their outside linebackers coach.[8]
    Denver Broncos

On January 15, 2019, Staley was hired by the Denver Broncos as their outside linebackers coach, reuniting with head coach Vic Fangio.[9]
    Los Angeles Rams

On January 16, 2020, Staley was hired by the Los Angeles Rams as their defensive coordinator.[10][11] In his only year as coordinator in 2020, Staley helped guide the Rams defense to 1st in points and total yards allowed, positioning himself as an attractive head coaching candidate around the league.[12]

What is impressive about this resume. Now...he does seem like a nice guy. Nothing personal. But he was not qualified for an NFL team.

We're in for a long, shitty year. It's a really odd feeling to know your season is over in week 3. In some ways... liberating?

In an ideal world we would can Staley and TT at the end of the year, and give Sean Payton and a competent GM whatever they want to come here with a treasure drove of draft picks to work with.

This team just doesn't have it. Again.

Shane Steichen is doing a great job for the Eagles. I have watched parts of their games. Steichen's play calling is miles ahead of Lombardi's. Some guys just know how to call plays and others really, really do not.

Hurts has half of the arm talent that Herbert has, but the Eagles have scored 86 points (28.7 per game) versus our 58 (19.3 points per game).

Clinic on both sides of the ball. With arguably less talent. Maybe the talent gap was closed by our injuries but 38-10 on the road. That’s embarrassing. It’s one thing when Belichick took Lynn that woodshed but now Pederson did it to Staley. Maybe it’s not so different . Staley is a child in over his head.

A HC with no HCing experience who thinks he knows it all says, this team and culture is going to be about relationships first.

Different sport but an all time great HC named PHIL JACKSON who has won championships and installed an actual winning culture disagrees. He says:

Injuries are such that we have a crisis with our personnel.

The Storm Norton experiment at OLT is over.

I have no idea what would work, but we are ĺooking at an in season, major re-shuffle at OL.

                Pipkins-Salyer-Linsley-Johnson-Feiler ??
                We play modern Harball.

We will not throw the ball down the field unless we are far behind and trying to play catch up. Every opposing defense knows it, without exception. When you play on national television nad throw all of two passes beyond 17 yards on 48 attempts, it is not too difficult to figure out.

The instant we threw deep, of course, it worked perfectly.

Unfortunately, with Guyton having sustained what appears to ne a significant knee injury that may require him to miss games, and with the roster management "brilliance" of the team at the WR position of trying to have an abundance of slower WRs that have no moves, it appears that we may have absolutely zero deep speed at this point.

But hey, at least Lombardi can now use Guyton's injury as an excuse to continue to not throw the ball down the field while he continues to engage in the mind numbingly stupidest clusterfuck play calling in the entire league so that we continue lose games that we should easily win as we have now done twice this season.
agree..... and because we were only throwing short, that is where they loaded up their defenders..... they were all over the short passes and stuffing the run...... and their defenders can actually tackle....

What is also showing up on film is if you avoid a handful of our defenders(who can tackle), the majority of our defense cannot tackle......which is why the JAX runs and screens broke so many tackles and gained good yardage almost every time.....
