Defense is still a huge, huge problem. They allowed that "all-pro" JAX offense to easily score on every possession except one!......
Everyone assumed we had solved our run defense issues by replacing our 2 starting DT's.....yes those guys have helped but opponents have figured out that if the play avoids those 2 DT's, Mack, or Bosa, no one else can fricking tackle...... JAX ran at will and kept doing it successfully.... and our defense got weaker and worse as game went on..... because the team never got into football shape before the season started.....

If this team comes out flat 2 weeks in a row, the HC needs to step up and take the blame...... historically, the Chargers have always been horrible at getting up for or prepared for any team that is viewed as weak or weaker.... maybe its a socal softness issue???? ..... but we rarely play well against supposedly bad teams......

Brandin Cooks, who will be on the field for Houston tomorrow, is listed at 5-10 185. Tyreek Hill is listed at 5-10 191. My biggest concern about Bandy is his hands, still remembering that ball he let go through his hands into the breadbasket of the DB behind him. He'll be catching missiles from Herbert not softballs from Daniel.

Yeah, and it's long past time to activate Spiller and give him some carries. The Chargers have the worst running game in the league.
Agree, that if we want to someday have a decent running game, be had better put Spiller on the field..... we drafted him to carry the load at RB......

The JAx game was crap. O, D, STs, coaching, water boy, etc, etc.
If you believe that was our best effort, I disagree.
We have a 20 game history with Staley, 3 game history with LAC's current defense.
LAC's D allowed 19 to LVR, 21 to KC (who had a pick 6 off Herbert).
38 to Jax appears to be an anomaly, but that's my best guess.
In any event, we will play out this season with the current staff.
        Go Bolts!

Herbert could help his OLine out by faster release.

No one else can tackle besides the DLine? Derwin would like to meet you in an alley to discuss.

Spiller can’t run through stacked bodies up front. Something is wrong with the play designs or OL capability to push the defense off the line and create lanes.

Not sure what it is but Ekeler was able to get yards behind past OL’s. Something is different and it stinks up front. Maybe it’s Lombardi’s play design which he’s admitted was bad in 2 games so far.

The OL has not looked good this season. Of course injuries to Linsley and Slater are a major reason, but Feiler has not played well.

Actually, he admitted some of the play CALLS were bad - we’re still waiting for him to admit the play DESIGNS are bad.

All those behind behind the LOS trick plays were bad design, IMO. Ekeler used to be one our best weapons catching short passes up field. What happened to what worked so well?

I just hope, 4 games in, we finally see a team that gets better offensively as the game progresses instead of worse like the first three.

Yeah, and it's long past time to activate Spiller and give him some carries. The Chargers have the worst running game in the league.
Hands and talent. Not concerned about his size. Some here are comparing him to Welker but he isn't Welker. But if he gets in the game I'll hope for the best. Same with Moore.
We need to draft another WR next year.
