The big problem with the OL rebuilding plan is the cornerstone was Franklin, and like a lot of big money FA, he has not played very well. Not a huge surprise, since most big money guys don't play well with their new teams, but we were counting on him. He has played pretty poorly when he has played and the only saving grace above that is that he hasn't played that much. Then add in losing Watt at C and Porkchop at OG, and we were down to having several backups starting before the season started. No running game and the pass protection has sucked.

Watt and Porkchops suck, so not really a problem that they're gone.Prediction:
Correct: Chargers CI fails miserably.
Fail: Team stays in San Diego until their lease runs out in 2020. (without getting new deal done by then) .
Sig Bet WIN: The Chargers will file for relocation on January 15.

LOL the timing is hilarious. At least in August this team looked ok on paper. Could have gotten it out there in august and it wouldn't have been that surprising. Now that the team is a trainwreck, I think it's hilarious that the news of his extension finally got out.

Why wouldn't you announce TT's extension when it happened, as you would with anyone else? In August, most people were fairly optimistic about this season. And the Chargers explanation is that it would be a distraction? WTF? There couldn't be a much bigger distraction going on with this team, right?
Canepa's article says it all.
